 About Us

To Know, Live and Share Christ!

This is the mission of St. Stephen's: to know Christ, to live Christ, and to share Christ. Our Vision helps us to know where we are going and what we hope to become. Our Core Values help us to know what is necessary to accomplish our mission. Here is how we describe our Vision and our Values:

St. Stephen's Vision
Where we are going. What we hope to become.

To be a spiritual home where, through wholehearted hospitality, life-changing sacred practices and grateful service, the Holy Spirit empowers us to share Christ’s love for the world.

St. Stephen's Core Values
What is necessary to accomplish our mission.

Wholehearted Hospitality
We warmly welcome and embrace all persons – without exception – offering them caring, compassionate conversations, hope and healing (Romans 12:12-13; Hebrews 13:2; Leviticus 19:33-34).

Life-Changing Sacred Practices
We meet Christ personally:
in the liturgy of Word and Sacrament
in the rites of anointing for healing and laying on of hands
by immersion in prayer, Scripture, devotional reading and study (Luke 24:28-32; Matthew 18:20)

We support and deepen our relationship with Christ
by engaging mind and heart in large and small group studies
focusing on discerning our individual gifts, and
applying our gifts in our lives and vocations (Romans 12:2; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18)

Grateful Service
We demonstrate our love of Christ by compassionately providing for the needs of our local and global neighbors through our generous gifts of time, talent and treasure (John 13:34-35; Matthew 25:31-45).

Joyful Witness
We boldly tell the story of Christ’s love for the world, enthusiastically share our faith journeys, and openly invite others to walk with us even as we actively explore what it means to know, live and share Christ (Acts 4:31; John 7:37-38; Mark 5:19-20).
